The first style to debut is our own exclusive take on the classic tee and tunic: a soft and cozy burnout.

50% cotton, 50% polyester, 100% hip.  Our fabric is put through an extensive process showing years of weathering.  Each bit of pilling and striation in this sheer fabric captures a true vintage, worn-in feel.  Every piece is a unique piece.

It’s a British invasion here at Sydney Michelle as we offer you the latest from Vivienne Westwood.

Making fashion statements since 1970, when she and her partner, Malcolm McLaren opened shop at 430 King Road, Chelsea in London, Vivienne Westwood is considered one of the most influential British fashion designers of the 20th century.

Credited with introducing “underwear as outer wear,” reviving the corset and inventing the “mini-crini,” Westwood’s earliest and most formative association is with the sub-cultural fashion and youth movement known as punk.

Although cited as punk’s creator, Westwood’s trademarks include traditional elements of British design such as tartan fabric, velvet, and knit wear. Designing with the feminine figure in mind partnered with a historical influence, in Westwood’s clothes, sexuality is determined by sensation. You would think it would take an engineer at NASA to create the softest most durable tee shirts offered. Well, it kind of started there.
Sydney Michelle is more than excited to carry the latest burnout tees from Nation Ltd…we sold out of our first shipment over one weekend and immediately reordered so we could provide more fashionistas with one of the best lines around.
Jen Menchaca was encouraged by her father to follow in his footsteps as an engineer at NASA; the closest she came was working their official gift shop over summers.
After graduating with a BS in advertising from the University of Texas, she moved to New York for a brief stint, but eventually settled in Los Angeles. She always kept a piece of her father with her, though, wearing his old V-Neck tee shirts at home. Kirsten_burnoutKnowing she would be offered money to buy a new shirt if she wore one in public, Jen set out to recreate the perfect vintage tee, complete with paint stains and a yellow tint. Designed by long-time friends Marissa Ribisi, actor Giovanni’s twin sister and Beck’s wife, and Sophia Banks, WHITLEY KROS is the product when the cities of Los Angeles and Sydney come together. The concept of their Spring line, inspired by the Japanese Fuji Rock Festival, is what would happen if everything fell out of a travelling character’s suitcase.
